1- Try to speak more
When you are learning English, avoid being too focused on the vocabulary of words. Instead, grasp each new word by using it in your daily conversations with native speakers (or practice them through looking up grammar and pronunciation rules online).
Try writing down 500 small examples from normal conversation every day so that usage and repetition can set a firm foundation for quickly putting unknown words into context. Learn how to substitute nearly all of your questions with “What is it” so that you know how to change the grammar of your sentences. FOR EXAMPLE:
2- Look for patterns
in your spoken and written language When you speak with a foreigner, listen carefully to see what patterns he will use. Also, check whether there are any grammatical rules that might apply that can help you learn how to write this new word or phrase quickly. Looking for patterns will help you pick up details like “verbs in the past usually have -ed at the end”.
FOR EXAMPLE:
Also, you’ll notice sets of words that we often use together. For example:
1-“We’d love to hear from you.”
2-“We’d love to have you over.”
3-“We’d love to see you.”
4-“We’d love to come visit.”
3- Think of your foreign words as pictures
Learning and understanding new words will happen almost magically when you start to see them from a pictorial perspective instead of trying to master each sound individually. Look up related English words in an online dictionary that show where these foreign household items or products can be found in the grocery store. Then you’ll be able to correctly say them (especially if your teacher asks) and even get a general idea of what people do with them or where they might live.
FOR EXAMPLE:
1-add pictures while learning is by drawing little cartoon illustrations showing how I would imagine words.
2- Find pictures and transcriptions of new words by searching the internet.
3-Read or listen to conversations between foreigners who are using these foreign words on social media, professional news sites.
4- Read or listen to novels written by international authors who are speaking in the language your recently learned.
5-Read or listen to books with words that you don’t know on audio when travelling abroad.
4-Let’s practice English everyday
That is an action plan found useful by many students in their journey of becoming proficient and fluent speakers of English as well! Make it a habit and follow everything you learn with daily practice. This is a great idea if you want to improve your listening, speaking and writing skills all at once!
FOR EXAMPLE:
1- Watch a lot of English Videos Channels
2- Listen to the Radio on your mobile
3- Hang out with friends who speak English
4- Speak More by Video Conference
5-Participate in Games that encourages communication
6. Soak Your information up in the library! Major open educational resources available include libraries, study materials and computer labs at many colleges & universities.
5- Learn through context
The way we have thought processes in our subconscious minds are not all that different from computers, so the more contextual input makes it easier for us to memorize, without worrying about other things being left out because of how complex language truly is. It also helps us avoid “anachronisms” by learning words in their most appropriate context.
When you learn English through your subconscious brain and the more connected memories it makes with its source, then that’s when English becomes easy to understand and speak fluently!
THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP OF ALL I cannot stress enough that your next step should be a conclusion about how you WANT TO LEARN ENGLISH.
6- Engage with English language media
Spend a focused moment every day to concentrate on learning pronunciations and rule of grammar. Be critical about what you’re reading or listening in order to criticize, improve and correct your pronunciation and knowledge! This is an important step if it will help you understand more quickly the different types of English speakers as they have so many things unknown that we need to learn from them because their English was written and spoken decades before ours!!
7- Don’t just focus on memorising grammar rules
Listen when people speak and use context to judge their language fluency. They will teach you many things besides the rule of grammar; how they talk about subjects, how one speaks to another or on what topics is spoken. You can really learn a lot from others simply by being more open-minded!
8- Don’t try to be perfect. Nobody is perfect.
If you try to be perfect and getting angry with yourself when your pronunciation or grammar mistakes then it will only make the errors more difficult for you. Remember that most people DONT understand what is a mistake, so don’t even think about them as something bad!
There are many videos on youtube that present various accents of English; very limited in their amount but necessary for us!!
9. Have fun!
This might sound like strange advice, but for the ones that are struggling to learn English learning should be fun! Personally, I don’t take without pleasure anywhere more than three months in order to achieve fluency, otherwise, you will not find it enjoyable so keep going!!
I really hope this helped those who wrote and tried a lot yet failed (or probably laughing at my terrible grammar). If there is still anything unclear please ask.
In conclusion, If you want to learn English quickly, there are certain things that you can do. If you have some extra time in your hands, watch a lot of English videos on YouTube and other channels. Don’t just focus on memorising words; instead, try to think of how these words look like as pictures or objects. Try to use these images when speaking English. and you need to engage with the language in a number of different ways. This will help you improve your pronunciation and grammar as well as help you build up your vocabulary.
